Almost eight years ago, American Soul Seasoning & Sauce wasn’t a brand—it was a habit.
A chef’s obsession. Late nights. Trial batches. Herbs everywhere. Sauces simmering.
Chef Kisha spent her career breaking rules in the kitchen—blending, dehydrating, experimenting—chasing flavor that stopped people mid-bite. And it worked. Compliments turned into questions. Questions turned into demand. “How did you make this?” “Why does this taste so different?” That’s when she realized this wasn’t just cooking—it was something bigger. She bottled what people couldn’t stop talking about and took it straight to the farmers market. No hype. No shortcuts. Just bold flavor and real soul. The response? Immediate. Consistent. Undeniable. Fast forward a year and a half later— What started in a kitchen is now claiming its own space.

Chef Kisha Marie is a Detroit-born executive chef, author, and entrepreneur who turned hardship into flavor and purpose. Cooking became her refuge at a young age, evolving into a lifelong passion rooted in soul, spice, and storytelling.

She is the founder of American Soul Café, American Soul Catering, and American Soul Seasonings & Sauces—handcrafted blends inspired by decades of culinary experience and bold Southern flavors. Chef Kisha is also the author of Crumbs to Creation and her newest release, Rags to Recipes, a powerful cookbook-meets-memoir that blends food, faith, and resilience.
